by STOP IRAN NOW -
International Holocaust Remembrance Day 2022
The leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran foments hatred and violence against the Jewish state and the Jewish people. He has vowed time and time again - openly and unabashedly -to annihilate Israel. He aggressively pursues this nefarious goal through terrorist proxies, aggressive regional occupation and the development of advanced conventional and nuclear weapons. Rather than confront this evil head on - the governments of the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, China and Russia are in Vienna are legitimizing, emboldening and financing it. They have failed to learn the dangers of appeasement. They are doubling down on their past failures. They are compromising our security and our values.
A Twitter official says that the tweets in which Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei calls for Israel’s destruction do not violate the company’s rules against hate speech. Yet, as wharped social media giants give brutal, murderous tyrants a microphone, he and they silence many trying to share truth and inspire peaceful action.
The great lies of our time - Israel is an "occupier" and an "apartheid state" - together with longstanding antisemitic tropes - are espoused by many who use them in an effort to justify the dehumanization, terrorization, maiming and murder of innocent Jewish men, women and children in Israel and around the world. The meteoric rise in antisemitism voice and violence is saddening but not surprising.
In a world filled with human rights atrocities many of the perpetrators use the United Nations as an antisemitic billy club - continuously singling out the tiny Jewish state of Israel for condemnation and punishment. In its latest act of discrimination and persecution the so-called "Human Rights" Council has selected an overtly anti-Israel commission that has committed blood libels against Israel in the past to conduct an Inquiry of unprecedented breadth, scope and duration with the obvious goal of tormenting and delegitimizing the Jewish state and rubber stamping its own erroneous foregone conclusions.
A New York and federal court fails to prosecute Grafton Thomas, A 39 year old man with a documented history of antisemitism who traveled 28 miles and stormed into a Hanukkah Party at the home/shul of Josef Neumann in Monsey, New York, horrifically murdering the 72 year old rabbi with a huge machete and seriously bludgeoning several others.
I think you get the picture...
Yes Houston we have a problem.
The operative questions are - how will you choose to think about it and what will you choose to do about it.
G-d has given us the gift of free choice. If we do not use it we will lose it.
Will you choose to become depressed and despondent - or inspired and resolute?
Will you choose faith over fear?
Elie Wiesel said that the opposite of love is not hate but indifference - will you choose love?
What if each and every one of us chose right here right now to partner with G-d and with each other to fight for truth, freedom and justice?
What if each one of us committed to allocate a block of time each day to fight the good fight and to inspire others to do the same?
What if you chose to spend that time influencing others on social media; preparing a response to the United Nations regarding their bogus Inquiry, creating a video showing support for the Iranian freedom fighters; calling and writing to politicians, diplomats, the media and corporations; organizing and attending neighborhood meetings and protests; and/or creating and sharing and websites and e-mails.
What if you chose to pursue and spread truth and inspire action in a way that reflected your unique talents and passion?
What if you chose to see your job not only as an opportunity to make money but as an opportunity to make a difference?
Yes it appears that "never again" has been replaced by "here we go again" - but it does not have to be.
If anything can save humanity memory can.
May the tragedies we commemmorate today - and the challenges we confront in our times - inspire us to greatness.
We must never lose faith in G-d, in ourselves and in the goodness and potential of humanity.
G-d is with us and will guide us - but we must each do our part.
The greatest honor we can bestow upon the victims of evil on this International Holocaust Memorial Day is to choose to eradicate hate tyranny and injustice in our lifetime. Then their memories will truly be a blessing.
This would also be the greatest gift we can bestow upon our children - and all mankind.
If one tiny spark can dispel a lot of darkness - a million tiny sparks can truly illuminate the world.
We hope and pray you will choose wisely.
We hope and pray you will seek the very best that lies within you.
With you on our team we know our side will win.
Thank you and G-d bless you.
